Being of Sacred Service as We Grow
Calling all painters, painters’ helpers, students seeking service hours over the summer, and friendly faced volunteers! Our CommUNITY Center is ready for a facelift – or at least a mini facial! A fresh, new coat of paint is on its way, and we need helping hands and caring hearts to help us accomplish this goal during the week of July 18th.
The UCSA Campus Enhancement Team (CET) was formed in early 2015 to initiate the Fast Forward goal to “create a campus that fully meets our needs”. The CET is developing a comprehensive facility growth plan using multiple sources of information and is committed to creating a balance between vision and financial responsibility.
One of the goals of this initiative is to create a dedicated CommUNITY space. Small strides have already been made as we have moved the youth education classes out of the CommUNITY Center and into their own designated spaces and have begun the relocation of our book store into this freed space inside the CommUNITY Center. We are working towards the shared goal of maximizing the use of this current space through re-design.
Please plan to join members of the sub-committee of the CET, which has been investigating all the possible options for transforming our CommUNITY Center. Tuesday, July 19th is preparation day. We need people willing to move furniture, clean the walls, place tape, and lay drop cloth. Wednesday July 20th is paint day. Thursday July 21st we will reassemble the room.
You can sign up (here) to join this transformation workforce – we will have several slots open for willing volunteers – skilled and non-skilled. Shifts are 2 hours, and if you can stay longer, that would be even better! All supplies will be provided. Just come with your best painting clothes and enthusiasm!
What is your passion? Is this your call to sacred service for your Unity community? We invite you to share in this exciting time of CommUNITY transformation!
