Through Visio Divina or divine seeing, we will create collages and begin to see the movement and pattern of the Holy through this season of our lives. No artistic experience required; all creative materials provided. Each week, Tina Karagulian offers a heart space of relaxation, music, creativity, and reflection. We have openings for fifteen to twenty participants.
The retreat will be offered on March 7, 14, 21, 28, Apr 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Unity Church of San Antonio 8103 Broadway Street in San Antonio in the CommUNITY Center. Dispenza Meditation - UH Community Center
Friday, 06 April 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 13:30 pm
8103 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78209, USA
Maggie Meigs, Ph.D. facilitates a meditation and discussion group based on the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza.
Joe Dispenza, D.C., author of You are the Placebo and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, teaches workshops to help people discover their ability to break free of old habits and create the future they want. Using his expertise as a neuroscientist, Dr. Joe draws from the latest in quantum physics and science to demystify the process of healing illnesses and creating a more fulfilling life. He has incorporated the techniques for change on a series of CDs, and this meditation group will have a short discussion about the best way to understand and use the meditation, and then will actually listen to the meditations together. It’s always more powerful meditating in a group. Dr. Joe is a powerful change agent, and these CDs are engaging enough to help slow down the busy mind, tap into elevated emotions, and help you to actually change your mind and your life. These CDs, which include both inspirational guidance and powerful music, help many people to stay engaged in ways that sitting in silence do not. They are designed by Dr. Dispenza to help you go from “someone,” to “no one” to “everyone,” as a way to move past the limitations of your human brain into the realm of the Unlimited Mind or Consciousness. Powerful things can happen from this state of mind, and living in a world of joy, and freedom and love are all possible when you do the work to make this a regular part of your life. Dr. Joe has many great Youtube videos or check out his website at drjoedispenza.com.
Facilitating this group is Maggie Meigs, Ph.D. She’s a Life Coach, retired Clinical Psychologist, and spiritual seeker, and has been a devoted follower of Dr. Dispenza’s work. She resonates with his scientific approach to the seemingly miraculous and mystical work of healing, changing old habits, and reaching into the spiritual realm (quantum field) as a part of our daily life. Dr. Dispenza successfully merges the Eastern and Western approaches to living a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

Family Book Study "The Five Principles"
Saturday, 07 April 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
602 Cave Ln, San Antonio, TX 78209, USA
Saturdays in April Starting, April 7, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Families sometimes vary in appearance. Grandparents are raising their grandchildren. Some families have two Moms or two Dads. But no matter who the people are in a family, they often have one thing in common: very busy and full lives. It might seem as if there is little or no time to devote to spirituality. Especially when there’s soccer practice, homework, or a baby that won’t sleep! Join us for an empowering study designed to support you in discovering your inherent worth, gifts, talents, and Divine capacities as you navigate family life!
If you are preparing to have a family, have a full family, volunteer in Youth Ministry, or even if you are a family of one, this study of Rev. Ellen Debenport’s book, The Five Principles is for you! Get to know our most fundamental Unity teachings in a way that empowers you to live them out loud – in the midst of family life. Not the kind of picture perfect family life you might see depicted on TV, but the real experience of raising a family in today’s world.
This class is offered on a love offering (donation) basis and will meet once a week on Saturdays for five weeks starting April 7, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and will end May 5. Don’t worry if you miss a session or two, we know you have a lot of commitments! After each class session you’ll be sent a review of the material covered by email. So you won’t miss a beat if you have to miss a class. Please read the first chapter of The Five Principles by Rev. Ellen Debenport before the first class. The book is available in our church bookstore or online at Amazon.
Your facilitator, L.U.T. (Licensed Unity Teacher) Candidate Birdie Shawker, R.N. knows a thing or two about family life. That’s because she’s been there! Jennifer “Birdie” Shawker currently serves at Unity of San Antonio as the Communications and Activities Coordinator. Prior to this, she served as the Youth and Family Ministry Director at Unity Church of San Angelo for 10 years. She’s also a Registered Nurse. She is the proud Mom of her teen son Ryan, and has been married to husband Frank for 21 years.
