Represent Unity of SA at San Antonio MLK March
Updated Details: We have quite a few people preregistered for the MLK March, but know that preregistration is not necessary! Simply arrive at Unity Church of San Antonio in the parking lot of the sanctuary, 1723 West Lawndale Street as close to 8:30 a.m. as possible on Monday, January 15. We will leave for the march promptly at 9:00 a.m. We will carpool from our church to a park and ride selected by the group that morning. Please dress for the weather. It will be cool in the morning and warmer in the afternoon. We suggest you bring a bottle of water, and cover any exposed skin areas with sunscreen. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!
Join us and march with our church at the San Antonio Martin Luther King, Jr. March. The march will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the MLK Academy located at 3501 MLK Drive and end at Pittman-Sullivan Park, 1101 Iowa Street. The City of San Antonio and the MLK commission encourage everyone to participate, including;
• Families and individuals
• Corporate and non-profit organizations
• Schools, churches, and civic groups
• Colleges and universities
• Community members
San Antonio’s march is now the largest MLK march in the nation. It has grown steadily since the official first march in 1987. This is a family friendly event with businesses open all around the route for food and restrooms. You will want to wear supportive shoes, wear sunscreen, and bring water with you.
