Rev. Jimmie Scott
In the book of Isaiah 30:20, you can find this interesting insight regarding the “Road Ahead”, “And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be removed or hidden. Your eyes shall see them.”
The bread of adversity is food for thought. It challenges us too explore directions and possibilities we would not have thought of had we stayed on a self-prescribed path. It expands our capacity to perceive True reality, instead of obstacles. It expands the scope of both inner and outer vision.
The water of affliction cleanses the spirit, heals and washes away all the self-imposed sufferings that come with the journey. Schopenhauer said,
“Every person takes the limits of their own field of vision for the limits of the world.”
Expand your field of vision. The world is unlimited.
