Rev. Jimmie Scott
This morning as I sat in meditation and contemplation of the anger, violence, and utter disrespect for humanity and human life that appears to permeate our country today. I became temporarily depressed. Then, as always, I had to fall back on my spiritual Understanding. From my spiritual perspective, Faith is about Understanding that I don’t have the answers about everything. But what I do have to contribute to every situation is my empathy, compassion, and eternal hope for a more peaceful world.
C.M. Rayne said, “For every item that carries the darkness of humanity there is one who holds the light. And that light is worth believing in. Not just in others, but in yourself as well” Maybe, as more and more people start to believe in the Light in themselves, they will choose to live from a higher perspective.
We are not helpless in the face of violence, nor can we stop every instance. But we all can do what we feel led to do. Pray about it, think about it, then do it!
