A Powerful Spiritual Practice
Intentional giving is a powerful spiritual practice that places us in trust of a continual flow of good. When contributing to our spiritual community becomes part of our overall financial plan rather than an afterthought, we know we are part of something bigger than ourselves: a place and a way to radiate divine light in our world. Stating the amount and frequency of our intended giving, in advance, and then honoring our intention through the ensuing year, instills spiritual integrity profoundly affecting every dimension of our lives. Why Intentional Giving?
Reasons for giving are as diverse as our congregation. Many tell us they give in appreciation of their spiritual evolution brought about by participation in our Unity CommUNITY. Others feel inspired to contribute to our vision of opening hearts and transforming lives. Many want to ensure that celebration, study, and service continue by way of adequate staffing and administration. Prosperity students know the powerful practice of giving promotes plenty-consciousness and relief from chronic worry about having enough. Grateful givers realize they absorb and express Unity teachings when they give to Unity. Many give for the pure joy of giving, knowing it feels good to give to something greater than ourselves. Intentional givers report spiritual transformation as a result of making and keeping a commitment. What might be your reason for becoming an intentional giver at Unity of SA?
We have much more power than perhaps we realize to direct our financial resources in ways that support, empower, and express what we believe in. It takes courage to direct the flow, but with each choice, we invest in the world as we envision it -The Soul of Money (Lynne Twist 111)
How to Begin Intentional Giving at UCSA:
Complete a Personal Statement of Intent. Click here for a form. Note the total annual amount and the incremental amounts you intend to give each week or month toward that total. Check your preferred method of giving, keeping in mind that electronic forms of giving ensure your remaining on track with your intention through the year.
Submit your Personal Statement of Intent. Bring the completed form with you on Sunday November 20, when we will bless our intentions in our annual Thanksgiving ceremony. Or, if you are unable to attend that day, mail your form to Unity of SA: 8103 Broadway, San Antonio TX 78209.
