From the Board of Trustees
Spring has sprung and the gardens are beginning to transform into the brilliant blooms that have been waiting for the perfect time for expression. A garden appears dormant during the shorter days of winter, but underneath the seeds are gathering the nutrients needed to emerge as the beautiful beings they are meant to be. At Unity Church of San Antonio, Spring is here too. Our community has been experiencing a time of renewal. We have been ministering to one another in so many ways as we prepare to emerge as who we are meant to be!
Have you noticed the many serving hearts creating a beautiful Sunday Celebration? Have you heard the words of support to each other as we minister to one another during this time of awareness? Have you felt the energy in the transition workshops and book studies? We are cultivating a culture and energy unique to Unity of SA!
Our Annual Meeting in March saw the first seedlings appear as we briefly looked back, but more importantly, looked forward. The Board of Trustees assured the membership that the Unity of SA community continues to thrive as we walk our Path to a New Minister. Although some budgetary adjustments were needed to remain fiscally responsible, we rest assured in the abundance and prosperity that is ours.
The Fast Forward initiative continues to provide a guide for our growth. Many of the initiatives are well on their way. The Board expressed their intention to focus more attention on the initiative for community outreach. This includes adding a community giving component to our regular tithing recipients. This was well received and the Community Giving Committee has been formed. The purpose of the committee is to provide recommendations to the Board of Trustees of potential recipients as part of the overall church tithing program. They will “develop criteria and procedures that will ensure recommended organizations are in alignment with Unity of San Antonio values.” Look for more information about this committee coming soon.
The Board welcomes your thoughts on the future of Unity of SA. But just as a garden needs to be watered and the soil cultivated and loved, so do we need your helping hands in sacred service and your spiritual insight and prayers for the work of this community.
In Love and Light,
Board of Trustees
