“God Works Through Annoying People”
Guest Speaker Rev. Ellen Debenport
Sad but true, those people driving you crazy right now are your greatest teachers.
Ellen Debenport’s first career was in journalism, working as a reporter for United Press International, then as a political editor for the Tampa Bay Times. She was posted in Washington, D.C., when she began to feel a call to deeper spiritual exploration.
Ordained by Unity Worldwide Ministries in 1999, Ellen served as minister at the 1,000-member Unity of Dallas church, took a year off to write, then in 2009 became the minister at Unity of Wimberley, a delightfully wacky town outside of Austin, Texas.
She is the author of The Five Principles: A Guide to Practical Spirituality and Hell in the Hallway, Light at the Door, about the spiritual path through change and transition.
In addition to her weekly Sunday messages, Ellen speaks for spiritual groups throughout the country and has hosted nearly 200 shows for Unity Online Radio with its 100,000 monthly listeners. She also teaches classes, leads workshops, and conducts retreats for other spiritual-but-not-religious seekers. Her weekly blog reaches a growing international audience, and last year she was certified as a Life Mastery Consultant.
