“Membership Has its Benefits”
With Guest Speakers: Demarcus Simpson, Linnie Martin, and Steve Meigs
To paraphrase American Express, there are benefits to being a member of Unity of San Antonio. American Express wisely refers to their customers as members, and with good reason! Members are the “inner circle” of any community. At Unity Church of San Antonio, members play a pivotal role through their engagement in the life of our CommUNITY. They provide the impetus that moves our spiritual center in a positive direction. Why do they do this? The reasons are as diverse as the members themselves. Join us as three members of our CommUNITY describe the benefits of membership they have experienced at Unity of San Antonio!
Demarcus Simpson is married to his beautiful wife Melissa and is father to two teenagers; DeMarcus II and Kiana. His family are the lights of his life. DeMarcus is an insurance professional with USAA. He is currently attending Western Governors University to complete his Bachelor’s degree. Demarcus shines his light in Sacred Service at Unity of San Antonio by serving in Youth Ministry, at the Welcome Table, and other areas as needed. You’ll recognize him by his dazzling smile when you see him! DeMarcus is proud to call Unity Church of San Antonio his spiritual home
Linnie Martin loves her family – partner Sue, daughter Emma, who is now in college, and all her extended family. Linnie is a retired Ombudsman Program Manager serving the San Antonio area and surrounding counties as an advocate for residents of nursing homes. She loves the outdoors, dancing, reading, painting and making jewelry. Linnie truly loves being a member of Unity Church of San Antonio and all the goodness it has added to her life. She currently enjoys shining her light in Sacred Service at Unity Church of San Antonio as an Office Angel and in the area of Youth Ministry.
Steve Meigs grew up in a military family, and chose to continue a “military life:” attending The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina where he graduated with a B.A. in English and a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Steve completed a 28-year career in the Air Force as a healthcare executive in 2004 and began a second career. He currently teaches healthcare management at Brown Mackie College. Steve and his wife Maggie began attending Unity of San Antonio in 2011 after transferring their membership from Unity of Phoenix. They feel blessed and grateful to be part of this wonderful spiritual community. Steve shines his light in Sacred Service in our CommUNITY as a member of the Unity of SA Board of Trustees, serving on the Mortgage Team, and the Technology Team.
