Jennifer Gates, Youth and Family Ministry Director
During the month of February, our children and teens are moving into new units of study which build upon the earlier discussions, music, stories and interaction that was begun as we entered the new year. Our children’s groups are discovering all about “Loving”, which is great timing for this Valentine month! Over a period of four weeks, our pre-school and elementary students will enjoy time together that centers around “What is Love”, “Loving Myself as I Am”, Communicating from the Heart”, and Expressing My God Love”. Through skits, music, crafts, stories, and discussion, our children and adult volunteers will understand more about their part in a loving world.
Our teens are also discovering more about themselves in relation to the spiritual world as they explore the topic of “My Christ Self”. As our teens grapple with tougher subject matter – they will utilize the metaphysical dictionary and find ways to relate the ancient words of the Bible to our everyday life in our modern day world. By participating in lively discussions, role playing, and interesting activities, our middle and high school aged youth will look at “Who Was This Man Jesus?”, “How Am I Like Christ Jesus?”, and move onto understanding “How Christ Expresses as Me! Through Me!”.
Our adult volunteers are energized and enthusiastic about their work in our youth ministry program! Keep your eyes open for upcoming opportunities to interact with your UCSA Youth and Family Ministry children, teens, and volunteers.
