The 12 Powers – Jennifer Gates, Youth And Family Ministry Director
“(W)hen man is developing out of mere personal consciousness into spiritual consciousness, he begins to train deeper and larger powers; he sends his thought down into theinner centers of his organism, and through his word quickens them to life.” -Charles Fillmore, Unity Co-Founder
Affirmation: I tell myself the great Truth: I am Divine
This week in Youth Ministry, we will be introducing the topic of the 12 Powers: Faith, Strength, Wisdom, Love, Power, Imagination, Understanding, Will, Order, Zeal, Release, Life. Over the next several weeks, we will learn more about each Power and how it is enacted in our lives. On July 30, the children and teens of our Youth Ministry program will be leading the entire Sunday service, on the topic of the 12 Powers!
Adult volunteers will provide information about the history of the 12 Powers; the nature of each of the Powers, how they work together, and how we can remain open to seeing them expressed in our lives.
Children and teens will be able to identify ways the 12 Powers show up in their lives. They will briefly explore the meaning of each Power, and they will begin to think about how to integrate the Powers in their daily lives.
All of our Unity Principles go hand-in-hand with the unfolding of our Spiritual Powers!
Principle #1: God is good and present everywhere.
Principle #2: I am naturally good because God’s divinity is in me.
Principle #3: I create my life experience by what I choose to think, believe and feel.
Principle #4: There is power in affirmative prayer and meditation.
Principle #5: I must live the Truth that I know!
As always, I invite each of you to join us in our classroom on a Sunday morning. You may just find that your spiritual life is enriched by the lessons we are sharing. We are especially looking for volunteers who are willing to serve during the summer months – June, July, and August! Contact us if you are guided to support your Youth and Family Ministry!
