Doesn't May always feel like a full month when you have kids? As a mother, I have found it to be as full as the holiday season. It's a month of celebrations, endings, and new beginnings. There seems to be lots of birthday parties, graduations, end of year programs, Mother's Day celebrations, and of course, the end of the school year. I find it especially helpful to make sure I carve out some room for my spiritual practice during these busy times. These busy times are always when I am most likely to set it aside, yet it is what fulfills and sustains me, and gives me the power and energy to show up centered, and not frazzled. Church is a community place that ensures I take that time to go within and center myself, to slow down, and bring myself back to the NOW, and not the "what's next". I invite you to come spend Sundays with us. Let us help you fill up your cup.

In YFM (Youth Family Ministry), May is no different for us! See the important YFM dates in May below:

May 3:

Rock, Bake, and Create Fundraiser for YFM. We are raising money for YFM program costs and scholarships and travel expenses for two Y.O.U. (high school) summer rallys. The teens will be selling painted grounding rocks, baked goods and Spiritual Artwork of their own creations.

May 10:

Mother's Day
Deadline for Legacy Rally registration. Legacy Rally is our summer spiritual retreat for Y.O.U. (highschool age). For more information, and how to register, look at our events page (on page 2 of the events page).

May 31:

FLY UP is when next year's 1st, 3rd, and 6th graders will "Fly Up" into the next class. We will have a small ceremonyto celebrate and acknowledge them for their growth over the last 3 years and for moving up into the next YFM class. Since our classes usually cover 3 + years, it's a big deal to Fly Up! It will be at 11 am, after the Family Blessing, in the sanctuary. Please let me know if your child will be flying up, and attending by emailing me at yfm@unityofsa.org.
YFM is hosting hospitality in the CommunityCafe, Our teens will be taking care of you and offering baked goods as a YFM Fundraiser. We look forward to seeing you there!
